The RANZCP Faculty of Adult Psychiatry 2026 Conference will be centred around the theme

‘Complexity, trauma and neurodiversity in contemporary practice’.

We are delighted to invite you to Queenstown, Aotearoa New Zealand, for the RANZCP Faculty of Adult Psychiatry 2026 Conference. Building on two years of collaboration with the Section of Private Practice Psychiatry and the ADHD Network, this year we welcome the inclusion of the Military, Veterans and Emergency Services Personnel Network.

From Friday 20 to Sunday 22 November 2026, set against the spectacular landscape of Queenstown — surrounded by mountains and resting beside Lake Wakatipu — we will bring specialist expertise into conversation and create a forum for shared learning, thoughtful exchange, and interdisciplinary dialogue.

The theme ‘Complexity, Trauma and Neurodiversity in Contemporary Practice’ reflects the reality that patients in adult psychiatric practice rarely present with a single, contained diagnosis. Instead, we increasingly encounter interwoven symptom patterns shaped by trauma, neurodivergence, culture, adversity, and systemic inequities.

Our focus will be on strengthening clinical practice to deliver care that is inclusive, reflective, and responsive to the diverse needs of those we serve — grounded in compassionate curiosity, diagnostic humility, and collaborative formulation.
